REVIEW: MBIRI NATURAL SKINCARE
There’s a fascinating story behind this fabulous natural skincare range which is manufactured in Namibia. The main ingredient used is Namibian Myrrh, and this is extracted from trees in the dry season by the local women of the desert areas in which it grows. It’s gathered from the trees in the form of a resin, and it’s this resin which is made into Namibian Myrrh and is the basis for the Mbiri products. What’s so amazing is if you look at a photo of the tree from which the resin is collected, it is the most unassuming, low lying, and bare without foliage kind of tree. And from this, comes this amazing resin! Only naturally exuded resin is used – it actually drops from the tree to the ground and is simply picked up from there.
The other ingredients include Kalahari Melon Seed Oil and Marula Oil. Together these combine to create products that smell divine (earthy, clean), and make you feel great after using! The products in this range comprise of an hydrating body wash, an hydrating body lotion, a lip moisturiser, and an essential oil.
The body wash and the body lotion both smell amazing, have a lovely texture (not too thin), and I found that a little goes a long way. The lip balm really surprised me as it is difficult to find a lip moisturiser that one doesn’t have to keep applying repeatedly once one starts. This balm slides on smoothly and lasts for ages! The essential oil – once again, it smells amazing, and I really luxuriated in the bath with this oil.
I absolutely loved all the products in this unique and very special range. Not only because of how delicious they are, but also because of the wonderful story behind them. Beautiful products with a feel very good factor!
