Dr. Lauren Stretch is the founder of Early Inspiration, an organisation which aims to enhance the development of young children in South Africa through practitioner training, parent support and home-based interventions, focusing on communities, schools and families. She was one of the youngest PhD graduates in the country, and completed her studies on the effectiveness of early childhood intervention programmes, particularly in underprivileged settings.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
Following my dreams & doing what I was destined to do – no matter the cost. Working to enable children with opportunities & to be their voice in a broken society & world.
How would people communicate in a perfect world?
In a perfect world, people would feel confident and capable enough to communicate through the spoken word, without the worry of being ostracized and judged but would rather feel liberated.
What do you work toward in your free time?
Spending as much time traveling & exploring this world as possible.
If you woke up and had 300 unread emails and could only answer 30 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer? Family first, then I would respond to emails from my team.
Name 3 things in nature you find most beautiful.
Sunsets, ocean-views and wild animals.
