It’s been a stressful 2020 with an unprecedented global pandemic and extremely uncertain times. It’s been winter. Humans have been forced to look inwards for answers and solutions not only to survive but to try and thrive. This stress has not only created more health conditions, but flare-ups of pre-existing skin and health conditions. The stress and strain has also brought on dull, dehydrated skin. And now, a new condition: ‘maskne’ (acne from wearing a mask).
If you’ve been experiencing any of the above, it’s time to spring clean your skincare routine and look towards companies and brands that offer cleaner, more natural, more sustainable, more recyclable, more animal-friendly, more gender-inclusive, and more chemical-free products.
Some of the more positive things that have strongly emerged from lockdown and are fully trending are that local really is lekker, and that taking care of ourselves is not selfish, but in actual fact, vital to our survival.
Clean, balanced living is what people not only want, but what they really need to find lasting solutions to skin and health issues. What is clean beauty? To us, clean Beauty is defined by products that are mindfully created and produced without any proven or suspected toxic ingredients. Clean Beauty products include ingredients ethically sourced and are made with the health of our bodies and the environment in mind.
At Eco Diva Natural, we promise all of the above and more. We advocate for non-toxic living, from the foods we consume, to the environment we live in, to the thoughts that we think. We are lovers of all animals and nature and believe it is critical to respect and protect our environment. We create and offer holistic solutions to skin health, gut health & wellness. We offer products that are 100% natural, organic, vegan, cruelty-free, non-toxic, hypo-allergenic, eco-friendly, nutrient-rich & unisex. Our range is manufactured in a certified Soil Association & Ecocert laboratory.
“‘Nature-cure’ is based upon the observation that it is the nature of things to heal themselves. We believe the same exists for our skin, and that is why we choose only the highest quality natural superfood ingredients that support the skin’s regeneration & self-healing.”

How to Achieve Optimal Skin Health
At Eco Diva, we don’t believe in skin types (skin types like dry, oily, combination or irritated skin). We believe that skin ‘types’ are actually caused when the skin’s pH levels are out of balance. Skin ‘types’ can manifest from using skincare and personal care products that contain certain chemicals that may not be in line with the molecular structure of your skin. An unhealthy diet and too much stress can also have a radical effect on your skin. The good news is, with the right skincare and nutrition, your skin can be fully balanced and glowing again. That’s why we focus on skin health from an holistic perspective, taking into consideration all factors that impact our skin.
We have witnessed miraculous results not only with ourselves but with all of our happy clients when the skin’s pH is in balance. A healthy skin and gut pH is crucial to experiencing healthy, supple skin every day.
The Eco Diva skincare range is specifically formulated to balance the pH levels of skin. Each product feeds the skin with the superfood nutrients it so desperately needs for optimal health and self-healing. No matter age, race or gender, our holistic approach achieves professional results for pigmentation, acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis and premature ageing.
We find that so many people are suffering with skin ’types’, and because of this, we have curated specific Per(pH)ect Solution Sets from our range that have proven efficacy and successful results when used in conjunction with a healthy diet and conscious lifestyle.
How to Achieve Optimal Gut Health
At Eco Diva, we focus on encouraging our clients to learn how to nourish themselves from the inside out. Like the engine room in a ship, our gut needs to be fed with the correct fuel/nutrition in order for the ship/body to work effectively and efficiently. Important factors to maintaining healthy skin through a healthy gut, are the following:
Waste Management: Ensure that your colon, intestine and bowel systems are working efficiently & regularly. This is critical to removing toxic waste, so that it doesn’t build up in the body and eventually burst out through the skin. When people suffer from constipation or colon issues due to poor gut health, the toxic waste must be released. If it is not being released through the digestive system, it will come out of the skin.
Fuel: You are what you eat. That’s why it’s imperative to eat a diet that is at least 70% high in fresh fruit and veggies. The more plant-based, live food is consumed, the healthier the gut & waste management system is.
Hydration: When the body is dehydrated, it can cause all sorts of havoc with our health & skin health, including premature ageing and skin irritations/pigmentation. Be sure to drink at least 6-8 glasses of spring or filtered water (not tap water) per day to flush the system of toxins.
Nutrients: Nutrients play a key role in skin & gut health by offering vitamins, amino acids and anti-oxidants – all extremely important for high-level function. Ensure you are taking the best supplements you can like a daily probiotic, super-greens, a good gut cleanse, vitamin Bs, C & Zinc, or ensure you are eating a diet that is naturally rich in these nutrients (fruits & veggies). Choose organic wherever you can, or grow your own veggies at home. This is becoming an increasing trend, because when you grow your own, you know the source.
How to Achieve Optimal Wellness
At Eco Diva, we focus on wellness, because we know that when we are not happy and filled with joy and gratitude, this can have a really adverse effect on our health as well as our skin health. Wellness is now the number 1 worldwide trend and it’s no wonder. Without emotional, physical and spiritual wellness, life isn’t much fun and our life experiences are much harder to enjoy and appreciate when we are not feeling balanced emotionally. Important factors in maintaining glowing skin through emotional wellness and balance are:
Meditation: When we are stressed, and ruled by our thoughts, imbalance occurs in the body. Meditation helps us to control our mind and thoughts and calm down our chattering mind. Meditation is essential to feel well and to live a happy life. Meditation can help us to eliminate negative thoughts, worries, and anxiety, all factors that can prevent us feeling empowered and healthy.
Gratitude: Without gratitude, it’s very difficult to be happy or healthy. With gratitude, we acknowledge the goodness in our lives. Gratitude helps us feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve our health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.
Kindness: Without kindness, the world we experience is very harsh and stressful. Kindness to ourselves and to others improves our quality of life in the workplace as well as in the community and at home. It brings people together. Doing good for others feels good. Showing kindness to others is just as rewarding as receiving it from someone else.

WHAT IS SKIN pH? Skin has a thin, protective layer on its surface, referred to as the acid mantle. This is made up of sebum (free fatty acids) excreted from the skin’s sebaceous glands, which mixes with lactic and amino acids from sweat to create the skin’s pH (potential Hydrogen). This is used to describe the acid-alkaline ratio of a substance, ranging from 0 (the most acidic) to 14 (the most alkaline). The skin’s ideal pH should be slightly acidic, 5.5.
WHAT IS GUT pH? A pH of 7 is neutral. Those levels vary throughout your body. Your blood is slightly alkaline, with a pH between 7.35 and 7.45. Your stomach is very acidic, with a pH of 3.5 or below, so it can break down food.
